Susana and Martin's paths first crossed at work, as colleagues, although they had not previously interacted. on June 11, 2016, their connection began when Martin DJ'd at a party hosted by Susana's friend. Susana invited Martin to dance while a band was playing during his break. Before accepting, Martin playfully teased Susana to her friend Mayra about her demeanor at work, calling her “stuck up” a moment that Susana found particularly amusing, which marked the true beginning of their love story.

That evening, they exchanged numbers and started getting to know each other, spending time together at work and eventually starting a relationship. Preferring to cherish their moments privately, they often escaped the city on weekends when they did not have their children, enjoying concerts, sporting events, and exploring new restaurants.
The relationship was not without its challenges. Martin and Susana decided to take a break. Back in early 2021, Martin was reminiscing while listening to Fabolous' Summertime Shootout 3: Coldest Summer Ever album. He was drinking from a Patron bottle, a birthday gift from his cousin, Jose, which had Jadakiss' lyrics from Theme Music “If you miss something, rewind that, Memories take you back to the time, Take the time to remember that you can't get the time back” written on the bottle. Martin was feeling regretful and sentimental, and decided to reach out to Susana. He asked her to go over so they could talk things through. Susana came over in a jiffy, and they had an open conversation about what they both wanted in their lives. Susana shared her feelings, and Martin really listened. He agreed that he wanted the same things. Following this, Martin and Susana decided to try again, and even introduced their children and families to each other.

On October 14, 2025, Martin, with the help of Susana’s sister, Marylu, planned a memorable proposal at Presqu’ile Winery, bringing them to this momentous occasion.
